Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University women's volleyball falls short of Georgian Court University in a 3-0 loss (23-25, 17-25, 25-27) during a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up on Saturday afternoon in Job Gymnasium.
Felician University (1-17, 1-7 CACC) kept it close in set one as they only lost by two points. Hannah Chiswick (Pittstown, N.J.) recorded five of her 14 kills and two of her four service aces during this set. Teammate Sara Betts (Goodyear, Ariz.) recorded eight kills and seven digs on the day, but was outplayed by GCU's Nylene Mateo (Bogota, N.J.) who recorded 16 kills and 10 digs.
Felician and Georgian Court (7-9, 3-3 CACC) were tied up at 10 in the second set, before the Lions took the lead by four and eventually ran away with the set win. Junior Jana Borkovic (Belgrade, Serbia) helped her team by recording 10 assists and 23 digs on the day, and Golden Falcons' Miquela Martinez (Santa Fe, N.M.) kept up with her by recording a total of 20 assists and 22 digs.
Georgian Court freshman Iciar Zayas (Caguas, Puerto Rico) totaled 21 assists and 17 digs, and sophomore Dayna Diaz (El Paso, Texas) had five assists and 10 digs. Felician senior Catherine Lentsch (Elkhorn, Neb.) recorded seven kills.
Felician stays at home for a 2p.m. CACC match-up on Saturday, October 8th against Holy Family University.
