Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician women's soccer celebrated their senior night in a Saturday evening loss, 3-0, versus Goldey-Beacom College at Tryon Field.
Prior to the start of the match, Felician recognized its two seniors Katinka Ummels (Urmond, Netherlands) and Lindsey Reira (Belleville, N.J.).
The Golden Falcons went down early when Goldey-Beacom sophomore Alex Lowry scored in the 19th minute. Lowry received the ball at the top of the box, off of a header by a Felician defender, and put it right over the head of goalkeeper, Julia Aguilar (North Bergen, N.J.).
Lowry scored her second goal of the night in the 24th minute to extend the Lightning lead, 2-0. Junior Hannah Clarke received the ball and one-touched it over the Felician defense for Lowry, who netted the ball into the lower left corner. In the final minute of the game, Lightning sophomore Angela Lee maneuvered around Aguilar to put Goldey ahead 3-0.
Felician freshman Julia Vaas (Rotterdam, Netherlands) led her team with five shots and Ummels followed behind with four shots, three of them on goal. Riera had three shots, two of them on goal and Redshirt-junior Lindsay Whaley (Subic Bay, Philippines) had two shots, both on goal..
Aguilar faced 12 shots and saved six while Goldey-Beacom starting goalie, Nikki Cashi, faced two shots and saved both and her backup Jennifer Mejia faced eight shots and saved all.
Felician women's soccer drops to 2-13-2, 1-10 in the CACC. The team is preparing to close out its final game of the regular season on Tuesday when they travel to Bloomfield College at 7pm.
