Box Score WILMINGTON, DEL. – Felician women's volleyball ends its season with a bang, winning 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-22) against Goldey-Beacom College during a Friday night Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up at Jones Center.
The first set was close, Goldey-Beacom led until the 15th point when the Lightening recorded an attack error and Hannah Chiswick (Pittstown, NJ) tallied a kill to shift momentum to the Golden Falcons to clinch the first set win. Catherine Lentsch (Elkhorn, Neb.) and teammate Cailey Jones (Bel Air, Md.) gathered seven kills each on the night. Sara Betts (Goodyear, Ariz.) recorded seven of her 13 kills in the first to help the Felician clinch the 25-21 set win.
During the second set, the score was tied 2-2 when Felician went on another rally to ultimately set them up for the win. Lightening attack errors were the downfall for the hosts, recording nine of their 19 during the second while Felician only totaled 10 all night.
The Golden Falcons recorded five of their nine service aces during the third set. Goldey-Beacom held its largest lead of the match, 8-12, but the Golden Falcons reached a tie breaker after a Chiswick kill to flip the score, 19-18, in favor of Felician. After a couple of aces, the Golden Falcons closed out the match, 25-22, to secure its final win of the 2022 season.
Golden Falcon setter Miquela Martinez (Santa Fe, N.M.) recorded a season high of 35 assists. Felician's Betts led the way for the Golden Falcons totaling 13 kills and four digs on the night. Senior Chiswick followed right behind with 12 kills. Goldey-Beacom (2-28, 1-16 CACC) senior Shayla Boyce and sophomore Piper Nanouski led the way for their team, totaling 11 kills each. Felician's Martinez and Chiswick both had 13 digs each. Goldey senior Rachel Cohen totaled 15 digs, and Nanouski totaled 14 on the night.
Felician women's volleyball finishes the season with a 4-25 record, 3-15 in the CACC.
