Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – The Felician University women's soccer team recorded its first win of the 2022 season, 8-1, over Lincoln (Pa.) University in a non-conference matchup Saturday at Tryon Field.
Felician interim head coach Scott Maloney recorded his first collegiate victory. The Golden Falcons improved to 5-0 all-time against the Lions.
Junior midfielder Katinka Ummels (Urmond, Netherlands) recorded three goals to help keep the game out of reach for the Lions. She netted two goals during first half, then finishing the game's scoring at the 70-minute mark.
The Golden Falcons featured six scorers. Bianca Revenga (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio Jefferson) kicked off Felician's hot foot with a penalty kick just under three minutes into regulation. Isabella Bertossi (Ballito, South Africa), Julia Vaas (Rotterdam, Netherlands), Briana Franco (Totowa, New Jersey), and Kate Braun (Long Branch, NJ) each recorded a goal. Senior Lindsey Riera (Belleville, NJ) tallied two assists and Braun added an assist.
During the 62nd minute, Lion sophomore Grace Quiah (Philadelphia, Pa.) netted an unassisted goal, but it wasn't enough to catch up to the Golden Falcons.
Felician is now 1-3-1 and is looking to keep the momentum going as it enters conference play hosting Caldwell University on Sept. 13 at noon.
