Box Score WATERBURY, CT- The Felician University women's soccer team was shut out by Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Post University, 1-0, on the road at LaMoy Field, Tuesday afternoon.
Coming into today's match, Felician led the all-time series, starting in 2002, 10-8-1. With today's Eagles win, they are now on a 5-game winning streak against the Golden Falcons, changing the all-time series 10-9-1, still in favor of Felician.
Post University recorded their first shot on goal in just under 5-minutes, however, they were able to get off 3 more shots in the span of 12-minutes, one of them leading to the only goal in the match, 1-0. Hailey McGee was able to shoot the ball past Rookie of the Week Honoree, goalkeeper Karlie Cabrera (Suwanee, GA), on a pass from her Eagle teammate, Kaeleigh Serianni.
The offensive presence for the Golden Falcons was hard to come by in today's conference match-up as they were only able to get off 2 shots, one in each half. At the 31-minute mark, Anne Noonan (Hawthorne, NJ) notched the first shot for the Golden Falcons but resulted high, then in the second-half, Emma Weiss (Hammonton, NJ) also shot the ball high, recording the second and last shot for Felician.
Cabrera managed to save 6 shots on the day, but the Eagles kept her on her toes raking in a total of 17 shots and 7 on goal.
Felician University women's soccer team drops to 2-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the CACC. They will be in action Saturday at Newark Academy in Livingston, NJ at 5:30pm against CACC opponent, Chestnut Hill, for their annual Homecoming event and to celebrate 25-years of Felician University's women's soccer program.
