RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician women's soccer hosted its final match of the 2023 season against Post University at Tryon Field Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Falcons battled with the Eagles throughout the full 90-minutes of play when both teams would score in the first - Post twice - and then run cold in the second as the opposer ran away with the 2-1 win.Â
In a 20-minute span, the Eagles were able to net two corner kick goals to soar over the Golden Falcons with a 2-0 lead during the first half. Felician went on a surge of shots from
Emmy Eskridge (Temecula, C.A.),
Megan Boddy (Galloway, N.J.), and
Julia Vaas (Rotterdam, Netherlands) in an attempt to find the back of the net and chip away at the Eagle lead. With Jayln Tse (Queens, N.Y.) controlling the ball down the field, the sophomore would place the ball on the right side of the net and found
Kate Braun (Long Branch, N.J.), who booted the ball into the top left corner of the goal to slash the opposer advantage in half, 2-1.Â
As the second half got underway, Felician would not go on to record a single shot while Post had six. In the event, the Felician keeper,
Alexis Lambertino (Hammonton, N.J.) would capture her 100th save for the 2023 season and would keep the Post lead to a goal as she manage to capture the lone shot on goal for the visiting squad.Â
As the 2023 season comes to an end, the Golden Falcons have wrapped up their season with an 0-12-3 record and 0-9-1 in the CACC.Â
