SIX GAME STREAK! Men's Soccer Cruises Past Lightning, 2-0

WILMINGTON, D.E. – Felician men's soccer is now on a six-game win streak with their 2-0 win over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Goldey-Beacom on Saturday afternoon to improve to 7-1-1, 5-0 in CACC play.

Felician and Goldey-Beacom both posted 13 shots each, but it was the green-and-gold who were able to find the back of the net. Felician's Lorenzo Ferrari (Palestro, Italy) scored his eighth goal of the season early in the second half off of an assist by junior Riccardo Benini (Bologna, Italy); his second of the season. Manuel Otero (Sanxenxo, Spain) recorded his first goal of the 2023 season when he booted the ball into the net for Felician's second goal of the afternoon.

The first half remained scoreless during this CACC match-up, with Felician posting seven shots, two on goal, compared to the Lightning's five, two on goal. Hugo Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain), Otero, Benini, Salvador Rang (Doorn, Netherlands), Erick Vargas (Wallkill, N.J.), and Alvaro Martin-Castedo (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) all gathered shots, but to no avail. Lightning goalkeeper Chris Jones had two saves, and Golden Falcons' Emanuele Moretti (Rome, Italy) also saved two shots this half.

The second half excitement for the Golden Falcons started seven minutes in when Benini finds the foot of Ferrari to bury the ball past host keeper, 1-0. 31 minutes later, Otero wins a loose ball and immediately takes a 15 yard shot that sailed over the Lightning for Otero's first goal of the season.

Felician men's soccer will continue CACC play on Tuesday when they host Bloomfield at noon on Tryon Field in Rutherford.
