Uchidiuno Ties Career High on the Road at Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, P.A. - Felician women's basketball continued non-conference play Tuesday afternoon when they traveled to Lock Haven, P.A. and matched up against Lock Haven University at 4:00pm. In the event, the Golden Falcons were upended after the first half as the Bald Eagles handed the green-and-gold the 55-93 loss. 

Here's What Happened:
  • Felician got off to a slow start to open up the contest while the hosts rallied a 20-4 run and by the end of the first quarter, the Golden Falcons recorded nine and the Bald Eagles piled on 27. 
  • With the Golden Falcons falling into a deficit early, the hosts wasted no time to continue to increase their advantage over the green-and-gold with 14 second quarter points in the opening minutes and held Felician to 0 until an Uzor Uchidiuno (Toronto, Canada) layup, 11-41.
  • The senior forward posted another layin in an attempt to revive the withering Golden Falcons but to no avail as the Bald Eagles soared over the Lady Falcons when halftime approached and the squad trailed, 23-47. 
  • The Golden Falcons recorded majority of their points in the third quarter when they posted 21 - paced by Uchidiuno's seven points - compared to the hosts 22. With the final stanza underway, Felician wasn't able to overcome the Lock Haven lead and dropped to the host, 55-93. 
Box Score Insights:
  • Uchidiuno tied a career high of 17 points to lead the Golden Falcons and also recorded five rebounds, four steals, and a block in the processes. Erica Egan (Dublin, Ireland) recorded nine points and Maci Covello had eight while shooting 66% from the field. 
  • Mar VIdal (Tona, Spain) and Deviney Jackson (Long Island City, N.Y.) led on the boards when they snagged 6 rebounds apiece. 
  • The Bald Eagles forced 29 Felician turnovers in which they were able to convert to only 17-points. 
The women's basketball squad drops to 2-7 overall and will return to action in JJJ Gymnasium on Friday to host #17 Pace University at 7:00pm.
