RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician Athletics is back in full swing Thursday, August 31, with three of its Fall Sports gearing up for opening day of the 2023-24 year. Men's Soccer will be hosting East Stroudsburg (ESU) at Tryon Field at 3:00pm while Women's Soccer begins its South Carolina trip with a face off at Converse University at 5:00pm; Volleyball will be traveling to Albany, N.Y. to play the College of Saint Rose at 7:00pm.

The history between Felician men's soccer and ESU is through the span of 10 games. The Warriors hold a 9-1 record against the Golden Falcons where in their last meeting in 2022, ESU came back from a 1-0 deficit to rally two back-to-back goals to defeat the green-and-gold, 2-1.

The Men's Soccer squad hasn't clinched a win over ESU since October 5, 2016 and they will be looking to break the five game losing streak during today's match. The Golden Falcons make the return of Erick Aguiar (Praia, Cape Verde), who's first season with the green-and-gold was cut short due to an ACL injury.

Women's Soccer will mark the first ever kick off with Converse University during tonight's event. In comparison to the 2022 season, both squads recorded almost similiar records, Felician with a 2-14-2 record and the Valkyries with a 4-12-1 record. 

The Golden Falcons return 21 student-athletes and welcomed 12 to create its 33-man roster for the upcoming season. The squad also brings back it's leading goal scorer, now sophomore, Kate Braun (Long Branch, N.J.) who was tied for most goals on the team in the 2022 season with six.

Women's Volleyball will go into the second consecutive match with Saint Rose this evening. During it's last event on September 6, 2022, the Golden Falcons battled with the Golden Knights, but dropped 0-3 (21-25, 23-25, 14-25) in the match. 

Overall, the Golden Falcons look to secure its first ever win over Saint Rose as they are currently 0-2 against the squad. Women's Volleyball makes the massive return of Miquela Martinez (Santa Fe, N.M.) who had a record breaking senior season by becoming the All-Time Assist leader with 2,562 and recording 1,000+ carrer digs. Second Year, Sara Betts (Goodyear, A.Z.) will be leading the offensive charge as she was second on the team last season with 231 kills and was first with 39 blocks.
