Women’s Soccer Draws with Converse University in South Carolina

Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Felician women's soccer opened up its 2023 campaign in South Carolina with a draw against non-conference Converse University, 1-1 at Hayden Abney Fulp Field at Weisiger Stadium on Thursday evening.

In a low shootout between both squads, the Golden Falcons out shot the hosts 3-0 by the end of the first, one of those found the back of the net by newcomer duo Jalyn Tse (Queens, N.Y.) and Filly Urias (Lubbock, T.X.). Urias posted her first goal as a Golden Falcon when she booted the ball passed the keeper from a Tse pass, 1-0.

The Valkyries put on the offensive push as they surpassed Felicians 2 shots with 6 in the second half. By the 58th minute, after two back-to-back shots by the host, the score became tied 1-1 when the ball snuck over Felician keeper, Alexis Lambertino (Hammonton, N.J.). Anne Noonan (Hawthorne, N.J.) and Carlie Koziol (Rutherford, N.J.) gave the Golden Falcons the final two shot attempts to try to run away with the win, but to no avail.

Women's Soccer (0-0-1) will be back in action on Saturday to play Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C. at 1:00pm for its final match-up before returning to Rutherford.
