Women's Soccer Loses to Dominican on the Road

WEST HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -  Felician women's soccer continued conference play Tuesday afternoon when they traveled to Dominican (N.Y.) University to ultimately drop 3-1 and to sit 0-2 in the CACC.

The Chargers put the Golden Falcons on their heels quick into the first 10-minutes of play when they recorded a goal at the 8th minute for the 1-0 advantage. Midway through the first half, the host would pile on another goal to continue to edge the green-and-gold as they entered halftime.

Felician's offense outperformed their first 45-minutes of play as they recorded seven shots in the second, one of them being a goal from Kate Braun (Long Branch, N.J.) from a Filly Urias (Lubbock, T.X.) pass to put the green-and-gold on the board. However, despite their efforts, the Golden Falcons were trailing 3-0 prior to the sophomore's goal, thus ending the match in a 3-1 loss.

As a whole, Felician totaled 11 shots, five on goal, with Braun leading the charge with one goal on three shots, and Ariana Monge (Los Lunas, N.M.), Kailey Rappel (Huntington, N.Y.), Julia Vaas (Rotterdam, Netherlands), Lindsay Whaley (Subic Bay, Philippines), Urias, Anne Noonan (Hawthorne, N.J.), and Emily Tierney (Massapequa, N.Y.) had one each.

With an overall record of 0-5-2, women's soccer will be back in action on Saturday to host Georgian Court University at Newark Academy in Livingston, N.J. at 2:00pm.
