Egan's Career High Paces Golden Falcons to Massive Victory Over Wilmington (Del.)

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician women's basketball hosted Wilmington (Del.) University for another Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match up in JJJ Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. The Golden Falcons would put themselves in two record book categories after they toppled the Wildcats 78-32. 

In the Felician Record book, this afternoon's event placed 2nd Largest Win Margin with 46 and tied for fourth all time in Least Points Allowed in a single game. 

Here's What Happened:
  • To keep it short and sweet, the Golden Falcons opened up the contest on a 18-0 run and denied the visiting Wildcats their first points of the afternoon until the second quarter when they went 1-2 from the freethrow line. 
  • Felician's defensive pressure dominated the opposers as there were NO made field goals for the squad, but went 5-8 from the stripe to enter halftime, 44-5. 
  • Opening the second half, the first field goal has made its appearance for the Wildcats from behind the arc and they were able to tally 14 points in the third quarter - their highest in the contest. However, Felician would go on to outscore the squad in both the third and fourth (16-14 / 18-13) as the green-and-gold captured their fifth conference win of the season. 
Box Score Insights:
  • Four Golden Falcons scored in double digits as Erica Egan (Dublin, Ireland) posted a career high of 15 points, 3-9 from long range, to pace the squad to their massive win. 
  • Adriana Perez (Galapagar, Madrid, Spain) had 14 points, seven assists and five steals, Mar Vidal (Tona, Spain) had 13 points and four assists, and Ane Valle (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain) had 10 points and two blocks. 
  • Aisha Traore (Bronx, N.Y.) controlled the green-and-gold boards with 15. 
  • Felician forced 36 Wildcat turnovers for 35 converted points and they were able to shoot 44% from the field (31-70). 
Women's Basketball (5-10 / 5-1 CACC) will be back in action next Wednesday when they travel to Orangeburg, N.Y. and face off with 2022-23 CACC Champions - Dominican (N.Y.) University at 5:30pm.
