Three Golden Falcons Post Double-Figures in Caldwell Victory

CALDWELL, N.J. - SEEING DOUBLE!! Felician men's basketball, along with the women's basketball squad, has secured the regular season series sweep over Caldwell University Wednesday Night. But here's why we're seeing double, the women posted the 79-61 win earlier in the night and as the men's game concluded the score featured a 79-61 victory for Felician.

The Golden Falcons were able to hang onto their lead throughout the entire contest, despite the one equalizer moment earlier in the first half.

Here's What Happened:
  • The Golden Falcons put the Cougars on their heels immediately. They recorded the first five points to have Caldwell tie it at five, however, Felician never let the hosts surpass them as they went on an 11-3 run with the help of Jaylen Colon (Paterson, N.J.), Jabri Fitzpatrick (North Brunswick, N.J.), and Jhonny Tovar (Caracas, Venezuela) for the 16-8 lead.
  • With 7-minutes remaining in the first half, Colon displayed Felician's - at the time - largest lead of 16 on a step back jumper, 30-14. Despite the double-digit lead early in the game, the Cougars held the Golden Falcons to only eight points as they rallied 16 to enter halftime trailing by five, 38-33.
  • Dee-End McRae (Newark, N.J.) kept the Felician momentum flowing when he ignited the second half with a posted bucket. With the hosts being able to bring the game within four, five consecutive points from Jay'von Jackson (Plainfield, N.J.) increased their advantage to nine, 47-38.
  • The largest lead of the contest was 18 with three-minutes remaining on the clock thus ending the night with the 79-61 victory for the Golden Falcons.
Box Score Insights:
  • Three Golden Falcons recorded double-digit points in the night. Fitzpatrick notched a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, Jackson had 17, and Colon 16 - who also recorded nine rebounds and four assists.
