Rutherford NJ - Felician University Women's Volleyball hosted against Bridgeport this evening. In this match against a strong Bridgeport team, Felician put up a resilient effort, showing moments of promise despite falling in straight sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-21) and bringing their record to 5-14 with a conference record of 2-6.
Megan Barker and Karla Maldonado led the offensive charge for Felician, each contributing 6 kills. Maldonado added 8 digs to her all-around performance, while Barker played solid defense with 3 digs and a block assist. Rowan Jensen provided a spark in the third set, hitting .375 with 4 kills on 8 attempts, helping Felician push the set to a closer 25-21 finish.
Though the team faced challenges with consistency, particularly in the second set, they showed grit in their ability to bounce back, especially in the third set where their energy and fight were on full display. The defense, anchored by Brooke Stone's 5 digs and a combined team total of 36 digs, kept them competitive against Bridgeport's powerful attack.
The Golden Falcons are back competing once again this Saturday as they go down to Jefferson University for a 1:00 PM start time.
