Men Soccer Against Post Ends in a Tie

Rutherford NJ - Felician University's Men's Soccer team went on the road this afternoon as they went up against Post University. In a matchup that would push the Golden Falcons right to the end, it would ultimately end in a tie 1-1, giving the team their first tie of the season. Here's a breakdown of what transpired.

Post took an early lead in the 6th minute. Felician pressed for an equalizer, with Ayato Kaneto and Hugo Rodriguez creating chances, however the Golden Falcons just missed both opportunities. Emanuele Moretti also made key saves that helped make sure the opposing team didn't score anything during the rest of the contest, totaling 2 saves in the first half. The defensive impact of Alvaro Martin Castedo and Kohta Yamanashi made constant stops that helped the Golden Falcons compete during the first half. Felician finally broke through in the 68th minute when Nicholas Robinson capitalized on an assist from Manuel Otero, leveling the match at 1-1. Both teams continued to exchange attacks, with Felician pushing hard in the final minutes. Despite several shots, including close efforts from Robinson, Louis Cole, and Nomar Ogaz, the Golden Falcons would not make any other shot and ultimately ended in a tie.

Men's Soccer will be playing at "home" this weekend when they go up against Chestnut Hill College at Newark Academy this Saturday at 8:30 PM. The Golden Falcons aim to get back in the win column and bring their conference record back to above .500.
