Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men Soccer Gets Their Revenge Over Georgian Court, Heading To Finals For First Time Since 2004

Rutherford NJ - Felician University Men Soccer headed down the Parkway to go up against Georgian Court. In a matchup with a lot at stake, the Golden Falcons handled business, picking up the win 2-0 and securing their spot in the CACC Finals. Here's what transpired during the contest.

First Half - Felician opened the match with strong offensive energy, as Hugo Rodriguez quickly took a shot just a few minutes in, although it went wide. The breakthrough came at the 6th minute when Nicholas Robinson found the back of the net with an assist from Rodriguez and Massimo Girardi, putting Felician up 1-0. Felician kept up the pressure, with Girardi attempting another shot in the 17th minute, but it went left. Near the half-hour mark, Nomar Ogaz took a close shot, but it was saved by Georgian Court's goalkeeper Felician's defense, led by Alvaro Martin Castedo and Emanuele Moretti in goal, stayed strong, including a key save on Georgian Court's shot to maintain their 1-0 lead going into halftime.

Second Half - Felician continued their assertive play, starting with fresh substitutions. Just seven minutes into the period, Girardi extended Felician's lead to 2-0 with a well-placed goal assisted by Manuel Otero. Rodriguez and Girardi each attempted further shots, testing the opposing team, who managed some saves to prevent the deficit from growing. Georgian Court struggled to respond, especially after losing a player to a red card, leaving Felician with a numerical advantage. Felician maintained control for the remainder of the match, ultimately securing a solid 2-0 victory over Georgian Court.

Golden Falcons Player Of The Game - The Golden Falcons Player Of The Game goes to Massimo Girardi, as he recorded 3 shots, 2 on goal, 1 goal, and 1 assist helping bring the Golden Falcons to the Conference Finals.

When asking Head Coach Brandon Levine how it feels to reach the finals for the first time, here's what he had to say: "I am excited to bring Felician Men's Soccer back to the CACC Final. The boys have worked extremely hard, and are 1 win away from achieving a huge goal of ours; winning the CACC Title. We are excited to be there, but understand that there's a large difference between playing in the finals and winning championships. We are ready to give everything Sunday to bring the title home with us from Wilmington!"

Felician last reached the conference final in 2004, where they came up short; their most recent championship win was in 2001. While this is a historic achievement, it's also worth noting that the Men's Soccer team has now officially matched the 2000 team's record with 15 wins with the potential of breaking that record this weekend.

The Golden Falcons head down to Wilmington this Sunday where they will go up against Post University at 10:00 AM to decide who will win the CACC Championship!
