Rutherford, NJ – The Felician University Women's Basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday night against Adelphi University in Garden City, New York.
Felician dug itself into an early hole as Adelphi took an early eight-point lead in the first quarter. However, the Golden Falcons would respond, going on a 10-2 run, highlighted by a trio of baskets courtesy of
Ane Valle, to tie up the game before the quarter ended.
Although Felician applied the pressure defensively, Adelphi started to heat up offensively on their home court.
The Panthers shot 47% from the floor during the second half, knocking down some highly contested shots. They were able to pull away to secure their second victory against a CACC opponent during the early portion of the 2024-2025 season.
Valle put together another impressive outing for the Golden Falcons, leading the team in scoring (13 points) and rebounds (17).
Stephanie Formby added 11 points and four rebounds of her own in 25 minutes of action.
The Felician University Women's Basketball team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Worcester, Massachusetts, to face non-conference foe Assumption University. This game will be the fourth of a five-game road stretch for the Golden Falcons, who will travel to Lincoln University on November 22 before returning home to host the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon the following afternoon on November 23.
