Women’s Volleyball Takes it To 5 Sets, Defeating Dominican

Rutherford NJ - Felician University Women's Volleyball hosted Dominican University this evening. In a matchup that was competitive throughout the entire contest, the Golden Falcons held on, winning Sets 2, 4, and 5 bringing back the victory and extending their winning streak to 3 games. Here's how the team performed.

Offensive Highlights: Rowan Jensen led Felician's offense, delivering 16 kills on 44 attempts with a .227 hitting percentage. Karla Maldonado and Megan Barker each made significant contributions as well, with Maldonado posting 14 kills on 40 attempts and Barker adding 11 kills on 34 attempts, rounding out the top attackers with 17.0 and 19.5 points, respectively.

Setting Leaders: Sophia Watterson led Felician's setting duties with 28 assists, while Kaya McLean contributed with 18 assists. Watterson's playmaking helped fuel Felician's offensive pushes, and she added seven digs and three blocking errors in her balanced performance.

Defensive Standouts: Aly Reeser anchored the back row with a team-leading 16 digs, while Lorina Stoycheva chipped in with seven digs. Barker also added nine digs to Felician's defensive efforts. The Golden Falcons posted a total of 62 digs in the match, displaying strong defensive resilience.

Additional Contributions: The Golden Falcons was efficient at the service line, recording 14 service aces. Reeser led with six aces, followed by Barker's five, applying pressure on Dominican's serve receive throughout the contest.

Golden Falcon Player Of The Game - The Golden Falcons Player Of The Game goes to Megan Barker, as she recorded 11 kills, 5 service aces, 3 blocks, and 9 digs. 

Women's Volleyball gets a few days off but goes back on the road one more time as they go up against Bridgeport this Saturday, November 16th, at 1:00 PM.
