Rutherford, NJ – The Felician University Women's Soccer team fought hard but ultimately came up short in their final game of the 2024 season against Dominican University on Friday afternoon at Tryon Field.
First Half- The Golden Falcons got off to a hot start right out of the gate. Kailey Rappel scored a goal in the 4th minute, giving Felician the momentum right away. Felician hung tough defensively for essentially the next 20 minutes before Dominican knotted up the score near the end of the 23rd minute. Both teams would continue battling, taking the 1-1 tie into the half.
Second Half- Both teams fought for opportunities early in the second half, as the game was ultimately decided in the middle of the half. Dominican scored goals in the 60th and 68th minute to give them the lead for good, but it wasn't due to a lack of effort from the Golden Falcons who made quite a few defensive stops in their final game of the season.
The Golden Falcons fought to the final whistle, as the effort displayed by the entire team was a very positive sign heading into the offseason.
