Sophmore Duo Sets Season Records in 2024 Finale Verus Bridgeport

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician women's lacrosse battled Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent the University of Bridgeport (Conn.) during their final game of the season on Thursday afternoon at Tryon Field. The hosts ultimately recorded 12-24 loss and ended the season 2-13 overall, 1-8 in the CACC. 
 
Despite the score, two Golden Falcon sophomores broke seasonal records during the event. With 1 caused turnover, Kayla Fox (Surrey, British Columbia) became the program's all-time leader in caused turnovers in a season with 40 and  Julia Ravazza (Tuolumne, Calif.) became the program's all-time leader in points in a season with 40 when she caged four versus the Purple Knights.
 
Here's What Happened: 
  • Bridgeport entered the scoring column first within two minutes into regulation, but Ravazza answered back moments later with a goal of her own, her first of the day. The Purple Knights added 5 more in the quarter, alongside a goal from Mary Gazaleh (East Windsor, N.J.) and another for Ravazza to end the first with a score of 3-6 in favor of the opposer. 
  • The Purple Knights continued to rally with eight goals to ignite the second and Felician's, Gazaleh, halted the offensive pressure when she recorded her second of the game. Amanda Panaccione (Old Bridge, N.J.) followed suit with a goal to go into the half trailing 4-15.
  • Felician won the third quarter, netting 5 goals compared to Bridgeport's 4. Ravazza scored her third of the day, Gazaleh added 2 more, Fox joined the scoring column and Aly Amadruto (Tinton Falls, N.J.) scored 1 to bring it to 10-18 Purple Knights after three quarters of play. 
  • In the final 15 minutes, Bridgeport did not surrendure to the Golden Falcons momentum when they tallied 6 to end the Golden Falcons season with a 12-24 defeat.
