Baseball Eliminated from Postseason After Dual Defeats by Eagles and Rams

WATERBURY, C.T. - Felician Baseball advanced into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference winner's bracket after the Game One victory over the S#1 Jefferson Rams on Thursday morning.

On Friday, the tournament featured game four and five and the Golden Falcons went head-to-head with the N#1 seed Post University Eagles to fall 5-10 in game four and re-matched with the Rams in hopes to stay alive, but lost 1-6 to be eliminated from the CACC Postseason. 

GAME FOUR V. POST
Here's What Happened:
  • With two fielder's choice at bats by Alex Torres (Jackson, N.J.) and Dauri Genao (West New York, N.J.), the Golden Falcons featured their first two runs of the day to edge the Eagles, 2-0. The opponents added one in the bottom half of the two run green-and-gold inning and would ultimately take the 2-4 lead after the three run fourth inning. 
  • Post continued to pile onto their advantage with four, 2-8, in the sixth, but Genao attempted to give Felician a second life with a three-run home run to trail the Eagles by three, 5-8. 
  • After the senior left field homer, the Golden Falcons couldn't post another run to fall in game four of the post season tournament, 5-10. 
Box Score Insights:
  • Genao led the offensive charge going 2-5 with four RBI and one home run while Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, N.J.) went 2-3.
  • Starting pitcher, Logan Waltz (Hazlet, N.J.) pitched 3.1 innings and struck out three and Gavin Enright came in to relieve Waltz and also struck out three. 
  • Felician's defensive performance in the field featured six errors between five Golden Falcons. 
GAME FIVE V. JEFFERSON
Here's What Happened:
  • Felician needed to secure this win to stay alive and to be able to find themselves back in the Championship round on Saturday.
  • In a pitching duel in the first three frames, the first run of the game was presented by the Golden Falcons in the top of the fourth when Andrew DeAngelis (Staten Island, N.Y.) sac flied to left to send home Ricky Voss (Eatontown, N.J.), 1-0. 
  • Also in the fourth, the Rams rallied two and then carried out four more through the fifth and sixth inning to hold the 1-6 lead over Felician. 
  • After the Rams' final two runs in the sixth, the remainder of the contest was scoreless and Felician was sent home back to Rutherford early after the 1-6 defeat. 
Box Score Insights:
  • Jack Scrivanic (Tinton Falls, N.J.) went 2-4 with a double to lead the Golden Falcons at the plate while DeAngelis posted the lone RBI of the contest. 
  • Jordan Savinon (Staten Island, N.Y.) pitched 5.1 innings and struck out five while Dylan Morrill (Teaneck, N.J.) came in during the seventh to strike out two. 

Felician Baseball wrapped up their season after the conclusion of game five in the CACC double-elimination tournament. The Golden Falcons ended 2024 with a 29-23 overall record and as the second seed in the north division with a 14-8 CACC record.
