East Rutherford, NJ - Felician's Women's Volleyball began their Alaska Fairbanks Tournament going up against Alaska Anchorage. After a long travel, the Golden Falcons aimed to kick off the tournament with a victory, however that wouldn't occur as Anchorage would win 3-0. Here's a breakdown of what transpired.

 

The Golden Falcons aimed to bring some heat up to Alaska, but Anchorage knew how to handle the pressure. The opposing team would start off 4-0, but a kill by #10 Megan Barker is what started the Golden Falcons off. In what would lead to a back and forth battle within the first set, with kills coming from #19 Tatum Williams, #18 Ashanna Caviness, and #7 Karla Maldonado. With the score being tied 21-21, Anchorage would go on the run to bring the score 1-0 to end the first set. Going into the second set, the Golden Falcons aimed to comeback and grab their first set win, but this wouldn't transpire. Anchorage kept getting kill after kill that helped them obtain a huge lead bringing it to 22-9. The Golden Falcons began going on a late run with a 4 point run, but in the end Anchorage would push away bringing the score to 2-0. Going into the 3rd set, the Golden Falcons looked to bring some pressure, however this wouldn't occur. The opposing team would come out on fire, giving them the victory 3-0.

 

Falcon's Player of the Game - The Falcons Player of the Game goes to #4 Aly Reeser, she totaled 1 kill and 7 digs in this contest as the libero, helping the Golden Falcons keep applying the pressure during this contest. 

 

Next Game - The Golden Falcons are not done today as their next competition is at 11PM Eastern Time against UNC Pembroke. The Golden Falcons are looking to add a victory to end today with a 1-1 record to start their tournament.
