Cross Country Trips Up To New York For Their Second Meet This Season

East Rutherford NJ - Men's and Womens Cross Country traveled up to Montgomery, New York to compete in the Jasper Fall XC Invite. While it was a hotter day for the Golden Falcons, this didn't stop them from competing. While they didn't finish the greatest, there is still a lot to build on as it's still a young season. Here's a breakdown of what happened.

The Women's Cross Country team looks to build off of this meet, as they would place 11th out of the 11 teams competing. Cynthia Delapaz leads the pack coming in with a time of 24:03.3 coming in at 61st. Coming in after her would be Catherine Catipay coming in a time of 25:43.3 which puts her at 68th place. While there were higher teams competing in this meet today, the Golden Falcons look to build off of this and bring it into their next meet.

The Men's Cross Country team looks to also learn and build off of this meet as they would come in at 12th out of 13 teams. Leading the charge, Daniel Chinchilla earning a time of 26:33.7 which gave him 41st place. Coming in behind him was Leonard Laine with a time of 28:38.3 putting him in 75th place. With the Golden Falcons aiming to come in with stronger times, this is a young season and the Men's team will use this as a learning lesson to get stronger before their next meet.

The Golden Falcons will have their next meet next Saturday when they go back on the road to compete at the Golden Eagles Invitational in Patchgue, New York. The Golden Falcons aim to improve each and every week and bringing what they learned today into their next meet.
