Women's Soccer Loses In Their First Conference Match

Rutherford NJ - Felician University Women's Soccer went on the road this Saturday afternoon to go up against Georgian Court in their first CACC Conference match up. In what would not be a tough day for the Golden Falcons as they would lose 5-2 in today's contest. Here's a breakdown of what occurred during this contest.

In the first half, the Golden Falcons aimed to stay competitive throughout this match. This is something that they wanted to do early as the opposing team scored the first goal of the match within 2 minutes into the contest. There were three shots right after this shot, with Stephanie Turi, Makenna Lesczynski, and Felicity Urias all having shots, however none would go in. Georgian Court would answer very quickly, scoring 3 goals in 5 minutes to bring the score to 4-0. Another shot opportunity came from Jayln Tse, but the Golden Falcons aimed to start a big comeback in the second half. They came out looking strong defensively, especially from Megan Boddy, Emmy Eskridge, and Kate Braun. Then, at the 70th minute, Felician gets on the board with a score by Jayln Tse, an assist coming from Kailey Rappel, bringing the score to 4-1. Georgian Court will end up scoring another goal, but Felician would answer back right with Valeria Ordonez Perez scoring on a penalty kick. This will be the last goal in this contest as Georgian Court would take the win, giving the Golden Falcons their first loss in conference play.

The Women's Soccer team will be competing once again this Wednesday at 1 PM in their second conference match against Caldwell University. The Golden Falcons are still looking to achieve their first victory this season as they continue to keep being competitive within their next contest.
