Women’s Soccer Ends Up Tying in Home Opener

East Rutherford NJ - Felician's Women's Soccer hosts their first match of the year against College of Staten Island. Coming into this match with a 0-0-1 record, the Golden Falcons looked to bring home their first win, however in another tough battle results in another tie. Here's a recap of what went down each half.

First Half - In the beginning of the match, Felician looked to start off strong and make their presence known, however it would be College of Staten Island getting the first and only goal of the first half. This didn't stop the Golden Falcons, as #19 Jalyn Tse had 3 shots with 2 being on goal with both of those just missing. Total of 8 shots were taken in the first half showcasing that the women's soccer team had no plans of stopping their pressure. After allowing her first goal of the season, #44 Zoe Pite didn't let anything else come in, having 6 saves to add to her stats. Felician aims to add some scoring into their second half.

Second Half - Going into the second half, the Golden Falcons looked to apply the pressure and add a goal and that's exactly what they did. In the 53rd minute, #25 Cynthia Amankwaa giving Felician their second goal of the season, with #20 Victoria Drotos helping out giving the assist. Felician kept trying to get another goal, with shots coming from #19 Jaylen Tse and #24 Mackenna Lesczynski, however no shot went into the goal. With both sides pushing down to the last minute, it led to a tie in the home opener.

Falcon's Player of the Game - The Falcons Player of the Game goes to #25 Cynthia Amanakwaa. Getting the first goal at home to make sure Felician receives a tie while constantly pushing the offense leads to the reason she wins this award today.
