Keane Leads Felician Bowling at Northeast Classic, Falcons Battle Top-Ranked Teams

The Felician University women's bowling team faced a challenging and highly competitive field at the Northeast Classic this past weekend. With 38 teams in attendance, including 22 ranked by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA), the Golden Falcons, ranked 23rd nationally, went up against some of the nation's best. The tournament featured matchups against top-tier teams, including No. 17 Mount St. Mary's, No. 5 Arkansas State, No. 13 McKendree, No. 2 Jacksonville State, and No. 3 Nebraska.

On day one, the team participated in Baker matches and finished with a 2-3 record. They secured victories over Niagara and Adelphi, but fell to #17 Mount St. Mary's, #5 Arkansas State, and #13 McKendree. On day two, the traditional matches provided another set of challenges. The Golden Falcons defeated Tulane and Wagner but lost to Central Missouri, #2 Jacksonville State, and #3 Nebraska.

Mackenzie Keane had an exceptional performance, finishing third overall with an impressive average of 229.40 over five games. Her standout moment came when she rolled a 279 game against Tulane. Luna Vivian was also solid, averaging 207.80 with a total of 1,039 pins. Samantha Slocum and Ashley Ferrara added valuable contributions, averaging 186.40 and 182.40, respectively. Grace Lefurge averaged 190.00 across three games, rounding out the team's strong efforts.

Felician will look to build on their performance at the Northeast Classic as they head into their next tournament, the SeaHawks Invitational, on Sunday, January 26, in Staten Island, NY.
