Track & Field Resumes Season with Record-Breaking Highlights at Ramapo Opener

New York, N.Y. – The Felician Golden Falcons Track and Field team resumed the indoor season on Friday at the Ramapo College Season Opener, held at the iconic 168th Street Armory in New York City.

The men's events were highlighted by a standout performance from Devin Jones, who claimed first place in the long jump with an impressive leap of 7.10 meters. Shane Connell also turned heads in the high jump, finishing second with a mark of 2.02 meters, breaking his own school record.

On the women's side, Chantoya Thomas led the way on the track, securing a second-place finish in the 200m with a time of 25.80 seconds. Imani Fitzpatrick also shined in the 400m, crossing the line in 59.54 seconds. In the 60m hurdles, Aarysa Moore and Jada Carroll delivered strong performances, posting competitive times of 9.08 and 9.43, respectively.

The Falcons showed their depth in the distance events as well. Cynthia Delapaz won the 5,000m in 19:34.87, setting a new school record. In the field events, Jada Carroll earned third place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.58 meters, and Destiny Ellerbe secured third place in the shot put with a throw of 12.08 meters.

The Golden Falcons will be back in action next Friday, January 24, returning to the 168th Street Armory for the Dr. Sander Scorcher.
