Philadelphia, PA – January 25, 2025 – The Felician University women's basketball team put up a strong fight but ultimately fell short against conference leader Holy Family University, 70-65, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup at the Campus Center in Philadelphia.
The Golden Falcons (6-13, 1-6 CACC) showcased a balanced offensive effort, with three players scoring in double figures. Sophomore guard Ane Valle led the way, recording a near double-double with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Freshman forward Stephanie Formby added 15 points, while Noella Biduaya contributed 14 points, including two key three-pointers.
Felician started strong, leading for much of the first half before Holy Family (16-3, 8-0 CACC) regained momentum with a 17-point third quarter. The game featured eight ties and two lead changes, with the Tigers pulling away late thanks to their strong free-throw shooting, going 17-for-22 (77.3%) from the line.
Holy Family's senior forward Taylor Hinkle led all scorers with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore guard Amy Ngo added 18 points off the bench, including a clutch 8-for-9 performance from the free-throw line.
Despite shooting an impressive 50.9% from the field, the Golden Falcons struggled at the free-throw line, converting only 6-of-12 attempts (50%). Felician's bench provided a lift with 20 points, highlighted by sophomore Erica Egan, who chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals in just 29 minutes.
Holy Family capitalized on Felician's 19 turnovers, scoring 23 points off those miscues and dominating fast-break opportunities with 17 points.
Felician will look to bounce back in their next game on Tuesday, January 28th, when they travel to face Bridgeport University at 5:00 PM.
