Felician Battles for Split against Southern New Hampshire

Little Ferry, N.J.: Felician bounced back after a tough game one loss to earn a hard-fought victory in the second game against Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU).

Game One

Felician struggled to generate offense in the opening game of Thursday's doubleheader, falling to SNHU, 7-1. The Golden Falcons were held score-less through six innings before pushing across a lone run in the bottom of the seventh. SNHU struck early in the first-inning and steadily added to their lead, highlighted by a three-run sixth inning. Layla Albarran led Felician with a 2-for-3 performance, while Kylie Sharapan drove in the team's only run with an RBI double in the seventh. Felician's pitching duo of Riley Williams, Mallory Shevlin, and Hannah Lutz combined for eight strikeouts and allowed 10 hits.

Game Two

The Golden Falcons bounced back in game two with a 2-1 victory to split the series. Felician broke through in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly from Kelsey Sharapan as Monique Sandoval scored. The team added another run in the fifth with Albarran drove in Ava Rivera on a groundout. Pitching was the key to victory, as Skye Limardo came on in relief and shut down the SNHU offense over 4.1 innings, allowing just four hits while striking out one to earn the win. Jocelyn Moody started and delivered 2.2 innings of scoreless work.
