Track & Field Performs at Delaware Invitational

Newark, DE - The Felician University men's and women's track and field teams showcased depth and talent across the board, delivering strong performances at the Delaware Invitational.

Men's Highlights
  • A'mair Buffaloe continued to shine in the sprints, placing fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 22.09 and following it up with an 11th-place finish in the 400m (50.54).
  • Freshman Patrick Dubois posted an impressive double in the distance events, claiming fifth in the 1500m and 12th in the 800m.
  • Daniel Chinchilla turned in a standout performance in the 5000m, placing third with a time of 16:01.45, while fellow teammate Joshua Ormilon also scored with a seventh-place finish. 
  • Felician's sprinters had a solid showing in the 100m, led by Christian Grant (11.09), Ben Nelken (11.14), and Damien Vizcarrondo (11.19), all finishing inside the top-20.
  • In the hurdles, Alberto Liste clocked 15.43 in the 110m hurdles to finish eighth overall.
  • The Golden Falcons had two relay teams finish in the top five of the 4x100m, with the A-squad (Grant, Yepps, Britton, Nelken) taking fourth and the B-team (Kinard-Johnson, Buffaloe, Howell, Vizcarrondo) right behind in fifth.
  • Felician also placed sixth in the 4x400m relay with the team of Luke Chambers, Samuel Yepps, Xavion Powell, and Amir Elkholy clocking 3:29.92.
  • In the field, Shane Connell soared to fifth in the high jump (2.00m) and freshman Kymani Clarke leaped to ninth in the long jump (6.32m).
  • On the throwing side, Amir Spurell-Everson and Uchechukwu Santschi tied for seventh in the shot put (13.18m), while Spurell-Everson also placed 10th in both the discus and hammer throw.
  • Freshman David Rojas claimed a podium finish in the javelin with a third-place throw of 41.80m and added a 15th-place finish in the hammer.

Women's Highlights
  • Freshman Chimeremya Odoh continued to impress, placing fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 12.38 and ninth in the 200m at 25.77.
  • Darrian Lewis showcased her range, running 25.98 in the 200m (10th place) and placing fifth in the 400m.
  • In the 800m, Imani Fitzpatrick led the way for Felician with an eighth-place finish (2:25.39), while sophomore Kaitlyn Vieira crossed 19th.
  • Catherine Catipay claimed a podium finish in the 1500m, running 5:06.98 for third place, with four other Golden Falcons finishing in the top 15, including Callie Negro, Tahasia Thomas, Kelsey Pereira, and Crystal Margotta.
  • Cynthia Delapaz turned in a strong effort in the 5000m, placing fourth with a time of 19:12.71. 
  • In the hurdles, Aarysa Moore and Jada Carroll finished fourth and sixth respectively, in the 100m hurdles.
  • The 4x100m relay team of Lewis, Moore, Odoh, and Shaquira Walcott captured the event title with a winning time of 48.52, while the 4x400m squad (Fitzpatrick, Catipay, Vieira, Thomas) placed third.
  • In the field events, Carroll (1.60m) and Moore (1.55m) placed second and third in the high jump respectively.
  • In the throws, Destiny Fields led the way with a second-place finish in the shot put (11.98m) and third in the discus (39.00m), aas Trinyce Symister placed fifth in the shot put and seventh in the javelin.
