Rutherford, N.J. - The Felician women's basketball team defeated Post 79-72 for a CACC battle on Thursday night to get themselves back in the win column.
Felician trailed by one after the opening quarter, 22-21, before finding momentum in the second period. A strong stretch of efficient shooting helped the Golden Falcons take a 41-39 advantage into halftime, setting the tone for a back-and-forth second half.
The Golden Falcons limited Post to just 10 points while generating consistent offense in the paint. Despite Post's attempts to rally late, Felician outscored the Eagles 25-23 to seal the win in the fourth quarter.
Stephanie Formby led all scorers with 26 points, adding 12 rebounds.
Ane Valle followed with an effificent 22 points and eight rebounds, while
Karla Barreno provided a spark off the bench with 12 assists, six assists, and four steals.
Felician finished the night shooting 49.1 percent from the field and held a significant advantage inside, scoring 38 points in the paint and collecting 41 total rebounds.
The Golden Falcons will travel to Jefferson Saturday, January 24 for a 1:30 PM matchup.
