Rutherford, N.J. - The Felician University women's basketball team used a strong second half performance to pull away from Dominican, earning a 70-41 victory on Wednesday night.
Felician trailed by two after the opening quarter in a tightly contested start that featured four ties and two lead changes. The Golden Falcons found their rhythm in the second quarter, holding Dominican to just seven points while building a 30-21 advantage at the break.
The momentum carried into the third quarter, where Felician delivered its most explosive stretch of the night. The Golden Falcons shot an impressive 64.3 percent from the field in the period and extended its lead to 53-33 before the fourth quarter. Felician continued to control the tempo in the final frame, shooting 66.7 percent in the quarter to seal the 29-point conference win.Â
Stephanie Formby led the way with a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double, adding a block and steal.
Lilla Szilvassy provided 17 points on an efficient 7-for-10 shooting along with seven rebounds.
Ane Valle recorded 14 points and 11 assists to go along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Mckenzie Palek added 11 points and six rebounds.
Felician will travel to Georgian Court on Saturday afternoon for a 12:00 PM tip-off.
