FLUSHING, N.Y. – Felician University women's soccer created several opportunities in the second half but could not find the back of the net, falling 2-0 to Queens (N.Y.) Wednesday evening at Knights Field.
Queens opened the scoring less than four minutes into the match and carried a 1-0 advantage into halftime. Felician increased its offensive pressure after the break, producing seven shots in the second half, but the Knights added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute to secure the victory.
The Golden Falcons finished with 10 shots, including five on target, and earned six corner kicks. Goalkeeper Isabella Riollano made seven saves in the contest.

FIRST HALF | Queens opened the scoring in the fourth minute, taking a 1-0 lead. Isabella Riollano kept the deficit at one with several saves during the opening half, including stops in the fifth, 11th, 31st and 45th minutes.

FIRST HALF | Felician generated its first significant offensive chances when Emma Miller put a shot on target in the 15th minute and Grace DiQuattro forced saves in the 25th and 38th minutes. The Golden Falcons entered halftime trailing 1-0.

SECOND HALF | Felician came out with increased offensive pressure, earning back-to-back corner kicks in the 64th minute. Grace DiQuattro and Denva Perrott each put shots on target during the sequence, but both were turned away. Sofia De Gabriel also recorded a shot that went wide.

SECOND HALF | Queens doubled its advantage in the 72nd minute, making it a 2-0 contest.

FINAL MINUTES | Felician continued to push for a breakthrough, with Tamzin Hilton having a shot blocked in the 78th minute, Grace DiQuattro seeing another attempt blocked shortly afterward and Charlotte Sayer putting a shot wide in the 80th minute. DiQuattro added another attempt in the 85th minute, but Queens held on for the shutout.
Felician moves to 0-1-0 on the season following Thursday's contest.
