Christopher Alexander Ayala... returns to his freshman position of catcher and is a leading designated hitter candidate.

2012: Played in 33 games, starting 21... batted .203 with one home run, 11 runs, and 10 RBI in 79 at-bats... added 10 walks for a .304 on-base percentage... also pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings... made eight starts at DH, eight in left field, and five at first base... played summer ball for the Wall Thunder of the ABCCL.

2011: Played in 10 games, starting four... went 4 for 19 (.211) with an RBI... member of the New Jersey Marlins of the ABCCL in the summer.

Prior to Felician: Played for coach Jimmy Ferraro at Marlboro High... also lettered in wrestling... member of the Langan Baseball summer/fall program.

Personal: Oldest of three children of Pirro and Judith Ayala... majoring in criminal justice... born 4/26/92 in Staten Island, N.Y.
