Box Score

CALDWELL, N.J. – Caldwell College shot 61 percent from the field, including 64-percent after halftime, to pull away for a 105-73 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball victory over visiting Felician College on Saturday afternoon at the George R. Newman Center. Caldwell (4-7, 1-3 CACC) racked up 61 second-half points.

Junior guard Tajric Boggs (Coram, N.Y.) led Felician in defeat with 20 points -- his fifth consecutive double-figure scoring effort -- and four steals. Transfer Anthony Obery (Roselle, N.J.) produced 11 points, five rebounds and two assists in 10 minutes off the bench, and senior forward Anthony J. Green (Jersey City, N.J.) (4-6 FG) turned in 10 points and four boards before fouling out after 25 minutes of action.

The Cougars opened up a 23-14 lead after nine minutes, four seconds, of action, and were ahead by as many as 11 points before Felician closed with an 11-4 spurt to trail, 44-40, at halftime. Caldwell led by eight with 12:56 to play in regulation before consecutive three-point field goals by sophomore Wyatt Polk (Haddonfield, N.J.) sparked a 17-4 Cougar run and a 79-58 advantage at the 8:14 mark. The Golden Falcons never got closer than an 18-point deficit the rest of the way, and the hosts were ahead by as many as 35 in the closing minutes.

Polk (13-19 FG, 5-7 3FG) matched a career high with 33 points and added nine rebounds. Caldwell received 24 points, seven rebounds, and six assists from sophomore Kevin Walker (Bayonne, N.J.), and freshman Dawan Lighty (Paterson, N.J.) scored 19 points in 18 bench minutes.

Felician seniors Antoine Obery (Roselle, N.J.) and Anthony D. Green (Jersey City, N.J.) were held to a combined 14 points. Two of the top seven scorers in the CACC, they together were responsible for 34.0 points per game entering the day. Green (6) was held under 10 points for the first time in 2012-13.

Felician (4-7, 2-3) has lost three consecutive games and 5 of it last 6. The Golden Falcons allowed their most points since a 106-79 home loss to Holy Family University on Jan. 26, 2008.

The Golden Falcons have one more contest in calendar year 2012. They travel to Post University for an 8 p.m. CACC affair on Wednesday before facing a 13-day competitive layoff.
