Box Score WATERBURY, Conn. – Senior swingman Antoine Obery (Roselle, N.J.) led four Felician College double-figure scorers with 16 points and a season-high 13 rebounds, but the Golden Falcons were defeated by host Post University, 94-70, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball action on Wednesday night at the Drubner Center.
Post (9-3, 5-1 CACC) never trailed on the night. The Eagles led, 23-9, with nine minutes, 23 seconds, remaining in the opening period. After seeing the Golden Falcons quickly cut its deficit to six, Post ended the half with an 18-9 run over the final seven minutes for a 45-30 halftime advantage.
The hosts moved ahead, 52-32, with 17:41 to play in the contest, and Felician never got back within single digits for the duration of the evening. The Golden Falcons got as close as 11 points on two occasions, the last time 72-61 at the 6:48 mark, but Post put the game away with a 14-3 spurt over the next 2 ½ minutes.
Obery advanced his career point total to 1,107, moving past Jerrell Jeffries into fifth place on Felician's all-time scoring list. Classmate Anthony D. Green (Jersey City, N.J.) shot 5 for 7 on three-point field goal attempts, all in the second half, to finish with 15 points. Felician junior guard Tajric Boggs (Coram, N.Y.) scored 12 with three steals, and senior forward David Williamson (Bronx, N.Y.) added 10 points.
The Eagles shot 55.7 percent from the field. Zach Krischer (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) was 8 for 10, including 5 of 7 on threes, and led all scorers with 21 points. Post scored 46 points off the bench, led by 18 (and six rebounds) from Travis Carbajal (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and 17 (with six assists) by Derrick Strong (St. Louis, Mo.)
Felician (4-8, 2-4) has lost four consecutive games and 6 of its last 7. The Golden Falcons are off until a non-conference home game against the University of Massachusetts Lowell on January 2.
