Golden Falcons Endure Rough Saturday Night In Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose led, 49-31, at halftime en route to a 96-63 non-conference men's basketball victory over visiting Felician College on Saturday night at Nolan Gymnasium. Saint Rose was hosting Day 1 of the four-team Northeast-10 Challenge.

Junior forward J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J.) led Felician (1-3) with team highs of 13 points, six rebounds and three assists.

After a Pringley lay-up accounted for the first scoring of the game, Saint Rose (1-2) reeled off 14 consecutive points and never trailed again. The Golden Falcons pulled to within a five-point deficit on two occasions mid-way through the opening period, but the Golden Knights outscored Felician, 17-9, in the final six minutes of the half.

By the middle of the second stanza, Saint Rose had pushed its advantage to 68-42. The Golden Knights systematically increased the bulge to as many as 36 points.  

Saint Rose senior center Dominykas Milka (Ridgewood, N.Y.) topped all players with 21 points and 11 rebounds. The hosts received 13 points, eight boards and three assists in 20 bench minutes from freshman Mical-Ryan Boyd (Hempstead, N.Y.) as part of putting four scorers in double figures

The Golden Knights racked up 28 assists on 37 field goals, and committed only seven turnovers. Saint Rose out-shot the Golden Falcons, 54-41 percent, from the field, and canned eight three-point field goals.

Senior guard Anthony Obery (Roselle, N.J.) and junior center Jeyvi Miavivululu (Paterson, N.J.) netted 11 points apiece for Felician.
