Box Score BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Despite season highs of 16 points and seven rebounds from junior forward Kennedy Chukwuocha (Willingboro, N.J.), the Felician University men's basketball team was defeated, 76-55, by host Bloomfield College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Saturday afternoon at BC Gymnasium.
Bloomfield senior forward Claude Blue (Brooklyn, N.Y.) registered 32 points and 13 rebounds in 29 minutes of play. Blue made 11 of 16 field goal attempts, including a 4-for-5 effort from three-point range.
Bloomfield (1-5, 1-2 CACC) took control in the latter stages of the first half. Ahead 13-10 with nine minutes, 10 seconds, left in the opening period, the Bears crafted a 22-4 run for a 21-point advantage before settling for a 37-19 halftime bulge.
Felician (3-4, 1-2) scored six straight points to get within a 53-39 deficit with 11:39 remaining in regulation. But Blue tallied the game's next 10 points over a stretch of 2:15, and when teammate Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, N.J.) canned a three-pointer with 8:01 remaining, the Bears earned their largest lead of the day, 69-41.
Felician junior Jamal Reid (Newark, N.J.) totaled 11 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Classmate Jordan Compas (Yonkers, N.Y.) led the Golden Falcons with nine rebounds to go along with five points. Felician committed 22 turnovers while forcing only 12, and was outscored, 14-2, at the foul line.
Abdus-Sabur (4-4 FG, 2-2 3FG) scored 11 points off the bench for the Bears.
