RUTHERFORD, N.J. – A 13-0 run spanning halftime sparked Goldey-Beacom College to an 84-53 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball victory over host Felician University on Wednesday night at Job Gymnasium.

Goldey-Beacom freshman guard Corey Taite (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) shot 7 for 10 from the floor and produced game highs of 20 points, six assists and four steals. Taite added six rebounds to his line. Junior guard C.J. Mwila (Livonia, Mich./Livonia Stevenson) led Felician (4-9, 2-5 CACC) with 17 points and three steals.

Goldey-Beacom took the lead for good four-plus minutes into the contest, and was ahead, 23-11, after 12 minutes, four seconds, of action. Felician trailed by seven points following a three-point field goal from Taylor Plummer (Plainfield, N.J./Plainfield) with 2:13 remaining in the first half. But the Lightning closed the period with a 10-0 run, including seven points from Shakeem Wilson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Monroe College), to take a 39-22 lead into intermission.

GBC senior Jerrel Lane (Roselle, N.J./St. Patrick) canned a three-pointer for the initial scoring of period two, giving the visitors a 20-point edge with 18:50 to play. The Golden Falcons would come no closer than a 17-point deficit the rest of the night. A steal and lay-up by Lane made the score 65-35 with 11:21 to play, and the Lightning were ahead by as many as 32 points on two occasions.

Wilson and Elijah Tillman (Garnerville, N.Y./Monroe College) (6-7 FG) scored 14 points apiece for the Lightning (6-10, 4-3), who turned 20 Felician turnovers into 31 points. GBC shot 52 percent from the field for the game, and built a 39-26 rebounding advantage.

Sophomore Marko Kozul (Astoria, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) netted nine points for Felician.
