RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Sean McCarthy's (Cork, Ireland / Colaiste Choilm) career-high 41 points propelled the Felician men's basketball squad to a 95-86 home win Monday night over the College of Staten Island. The victory ended a six-game skid for the Golden Falcons to improve to 4-7 on the year entering winter break.

The sophomore, McCarthy, delivered the second 40-point game in program history following Justin Davis' 46 points last season against Caldwell on February 21. He had 25 of his points in the first half as the Golden Falcons carried a 50-38 lead at halftime. Felician pumped its lead to as much as 18 in the second half, then fending off a late CSI run that got them to within four by closing the game out on a 8-3 run.

McCarthy secured his place in history shooting 15-of-22 from the field, making 2-of-4 threes and 9-of-10 free throws. He also recorded seven rebounds and four steals. Deiker Padrino (Bogota, N.J. / Bogota) tallied 18 points in 26 minutes off the bench, sinking 5-of-10 triples while tallying four boards. Anas Amos (Newark, N.J. / Newark East Side) contributed on all fronts with his 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

The Golden Falcons shot 45.1 percent (32-of-71), drilling 13-of-34 threes and 18-of-23 free throws. The Dolphins tallied 39.7 percent from the field (29-of-73) with 8-of-30 threes and 20-of-24 from the line. Felician turned 17 CSI turnovers into 26 points.

Men's Basketball comes out of winter break hosting Bloomfield in JJJ Gymnasium on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 8:00 p.m.
