Box Score CALDWELL, N.J. – Despite opening the game on a 13-2 run, the Felician University men's basketball team was met with a charge by host Caldwell Tuesday, who overcame the early deficit and used a strong second half to hand the Golden Falcons a 91-71 defeat.
The Cougars overcame the early deficit to lead 38-34 at halftime, then dropped 53 second-half points. The difference also was the shooting from the field, where Caldwell made 51.7 percent (31-of-60) to Felician's 36.5 (19-of-52), though the Golden Falcons made 10-of-21 threes to the Cougars' 5-of-16. Caldwell also led 34-18 in bench points and 48-16 in points in the paint.
Anas Amos (Newark, N.J. / Newark East Side) scored 17 of his team-best 19 points in the first half, nailing a perfect 3-of-3 triples and grabbing six rebounds with four assists. Etnik Peci (Pristina, Kosovo / Renaissance Academy) delivered 13 points off three 3-pointers with three boards, while Ebuka Nnagbo (Niagara Falls. N.Y. / Park School of Buffalo) led Felician with eight rebounds and adding seven points. Julius David Jr. (Rutherford, N.J. / Elizabeth) made a trio of threes to finish with nine markers.
The Golden Falcons have a week off before hosting Pace in non-conference action on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 8:00 p.m.
