Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician men's basketball and Post vied in a close first half Tuesday night, only for the visiting Eagles to use sound 3-point shooting and a strong second half to pull out of JJJ Gymnasium with an 87-63 win.
Anas Amos (Newark, N.J.) had 13 of his team-leading 17 points in the first half to contribute to the neck-and-neck opening half that saw the Eagles ahead slightly at 40-36. Post's second-half surge was due in part to a pair of 20-point performances by David Jansen's 27, making a staggering 7-of-10 from long range and 10-of-14 from the field, and 24 from D.J. Frechette, dialing a perfect 6-for-6 from long distance and 9-of-14 from the floor.
Post made 17-of-28 threes and 48.4 percent shooting on the night (31-64) to Felician's 5-of-25 and 36.2 percent (21-of-58), respectively. The two sides were split even on the boards 35-35.
Sean McCarthy (Cork, Ireland) delivered 12 points and a team-best eight rebounds, while Jonathan Edwards (Waterbury, Conn.) tallied nine points with six rebounds. Etnik Peci (Pristina, Kosovo) posted seven points.
Felician (4-13, 0-8 CACC) now turns its attention to a Saturday home matchup with Chestnut Hill (10-8, 5-3 CACC) at 3:30 p.m.
