Box Score WILMINGTON, DEL. – Felician men's basketball was dealt an adverse first half Saturday at Wilmington, challenged with overcoming a 45-17 halftime deficit to the host Wildcats in CACC play. While the Golden Falcons rebounded in the second half, they were unable to crack into the lead as Wilmington came up on top, 92-57.
The game started off modestly with Wilmington holding a 14-10 lead through the first six minutes. The Wildcats then scored the next 14 points on its way to a 31-7 run for the 28-point advantage at halftime. Felician was hampered by its shooting, making only 7-of-28 in the opening session and just 1-of-12 on 3-pointers, while Wilmington fared 17-of-28 and 6-of-11, respectively.
Anas Amos (Newark, N.J.) led Felician on the day with 14 points, while Ebuka Nnagbo (Niagara Falls. N.Y.) delivered 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Sean McCarthy (Cork, Ireland) chalked up 11 points with six boards and Etnik Peci (Pristina, Kosovo) eight points.
The Golden Falcons shot 36.1 percent for the game (22-of-61), making 4-of-19 from long range and 9-of-14 on free throws. Wilmington's final numbers were 57.6 percent (34-of-59) with 14-of-27 threes and 10-of-13 from the line. The Wildcats held a 40-27 lead in rebounds and a 40-10 lead in bench points as Wilmington had nine players come off the bench to Felician's three.
The Golden Falcons (5-13, 1-9) resume CACC play this Tuesday, hosting Caldwell (13-7, 9-2 CACC) for a 8:00 p.m. tip.
