Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University men's basketball's challenge of upending CACC North leader Caldwell Tuesday night ultimately ended in defeat, as the guest Cougars posted an 85-59 decision inside JJJ Gymnasium to run their win streak to seven games and improve to 15-7 (11-2 CACC)
The Cougars used a 25-4 run in the first half to lead 33-14 with six minutes remaining on their way to a 44-29 halftime advantage. Felician got to within 15 of CU's lead in the second half but no closer as Caldwell completed a season sweep after beating the Golden Falcons earlier this season, 91-72, on Dec. 6.
Three Golden Falcons finished in double digits, led by Anas Amos' (Newark, N.J.) 15 points. Julius David Jr. (Rutherford, N.J.) shot 4-of-8 from 3-point to post 13 off the bench, while Etnik Peci (Pristina, Kosovo) delivered 12 points. Ebuka Nnagbo (Niagara Falls. N.Y.) led the team with eight rebounds to go with six points, while Sean McCarthy (Cork, Ireland) finished with nine points.
Felician's attempts to get the long ball going fared just 9-of-34 for the night, finishing at 31.9 percent (23-of-72). The Cougars generated 49.2 percent (31-of-63), making 9-of-21 from behind the arc. Caldwell led 47-31 on the boards, 42-22 in points in the paint, and 22-1 in fastbreak points, while turning 18 Golden Falcons turnovers into a 24-14 lead in points off turnovers.
The green and gold (5-15, 1-10 CACC) are back home this Saturday, welcoming Goldey-Beacom at 3:30 p.m.
