Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Felician men's basketball played Holy Family close throughout their Saturday afternoon CACC contest, with the score tied at 79-79 with 2:29 remaining. Despite Deiker Padrino (Bogota, N.J.) making a career-high seven threes to come within one point his career best from last week with 27 points and Ebuka Nnagbo (Niagara Falls. N.Y.) totaling 16 points and 12 rebounds, the Tigers closed the game on an 8-0 run to claim an 87-79 win.
Felician opened the game on a 10-0 run and held the lead for most of the first half for a 42-38 halftime lead. The lead changed nine times in the second half when Sean McCarthy's (Cork, Ireland) three tied the game at 79-79 with 2:29 to go. The Tigers' Malik Archer, who finished with a game-high 33 points, put Holy Family up for the good on the ensuing possession as Felician was held scoreless the rest of the way.
Padrino finished 9-of-15 from the field and 7-of-12 on 3-pointers in a full 40 minutes of action. Nnagbo connected on 8-of-14 from the floor, while Anas Amos (Newark, N.J.) had six points, six rebounds and nine assists. Felician finished the game making 45.9 percent from the field (28-of-61) to Holy Family's 55.2 (32-of-58) and made 10-of-25 threes to the Tigers' 16-of-32. The Golden Falcons held a 38-27 advantage on rebounds and made 13-of-19 free throws over Holy Family's 7-of-10. The Tigers held a 33-9 lead in fastbreak points.
Felician's (4-11, 0-6 CACC) next contest sends them on the road again against Bridgeport on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
