RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician Men's Soccer hosted a Sunday night contest with non-conference opponents Molloy University at Tryon Field. After Felician equalized the score at 2, the hosts netted a last minute goal to soar over the Lions for the 3-2 win and to record their fourth straight win.Â
The Golden Falcons were on the board first after a header goal by
Matt Greenway (Birmingham, England) on a corner kick attempt. By the 34th minute, the Lions would score a goal of their own to sit tied, 1-1, going into half time.Â
Only a few minutes into the second, the Lions posted another goal for the 2-1 advantage over the hosts, however, the opposer lead was short lived as
Lorenzo Ferrari (Palestro, Italy) booted a goal off of a
Massimo Girardi (Rome, Italy) blocked shot for the second tie of the night.Â
Time winding down and the Golden Falcons put the Lions on their heels. The Lions did not record a single shot since their second goal of the contest while the green-and-gold recorded four. The fifth on goal shot was ignited by Ferrari as he dribbled the ball to the right side of the field and snuck the ball around the defender into the middle of the goal box to find
Tim Jaeger (Schwalmtal, Germany) for a game winning goal, 3-2.Â
Ferrari aided in the offensive dominance with 10 shots, half of Felician's game total (20), while
Alex Ramos (Almada, Portugal) and Girardi had 2.
The Golden Falcons are 5-1-1 overall and will return to conference play this Wednesday when they host the University of Bridgeport at Tryon Field at noon.Â
