PHILADELPHIA, P.A. - Felician Women's Soccer hit the road Friday afternoon for a Friday Night Lights event with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents, Chestnut Hill College, in Philadelphia, P.A. The Golden Falcons were held to just five shots in the day, two on goal, as they were toppled by the Griffins, 1-0.Â
Alexis Lambertino (Hammonton, N.J.) kept the green-and-gold in the game as she snagged 11 of the 12 shots on goal - Chestnut posted 20 overall in the night.
Kate Braun (Long Branch, N.J.) recorded three of the Golden Falcons shots while
Julia Vaas (Rotterdam, Netherlands) and
Carlie Koziol (East Rutherford, N.J.) had one each.Â
Throughout the majority of the first half, both squads battled to be the first to find the back of the net for the conference match advantage. By the 44th minute, te Griffins were able to tuck the ball behind Lambertino for the 1-0 lead as halftime approached. With the second half underway, and the Griffins still posting the pressure, the Golden Falcons locked down the hosts as they kept them to just one point, despite capturing the loss.Â
The women's soccer team (0-10-3 / 0-7-1 CACC) will be back at Tryon Field next Wednesday to wrap up their final non-conference game of the season with Queens College at 12:00pm in Rutherford.Â
