Men's Soccer Suffers First CACC Loss Against Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA, P.A. - Felician men's soccer had an undefeated stride in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference as they went into Saturday's match with Chestnut Hill. After a late first half Felician goal, the Griffins dominated the offensive side as they recorded two to hand the green-and-gold their first CACC loss of the 2023 season, 2-1.

Tim Jaeger (Schwalmtal, Germany) recorded the lone goal for the squad. Salvador Rang (Doorn, Netherlands) booted the ball down the right side of the field and had Jaeger control it to shove his way into the line of sight of the goal for the first point of the match, 1-0.

Immediately out of halftime, the hosts pushed the Golden Falcons onto their heels when they recorded five shots, three on goal, while the green-and-gold didn't record one. Riccardo Benini (Bologna, Italy) gave Felician a little life with two shots on goals, but Griffins' keeper managed to put a hand on all. By the 78th-minute, a Felician yellow card forced a host penalty kick shot in which Emanuele Moretti (Rome, Italy) saved, but a bounce back found a Chestnut Hill foot to tie it at one. Just a little over a minute later, the Golden Falcons gave up another goal to the hosts to fall behind 2-1 and ultimately dropped for their first conference loss of 2023.

After this afternoon's event, the men's soccer squad is 10-3-1 overall and 7-1 in the CACC. They will be back in action on Tuesday to travel back to the Philadelphia area to play Jefferson University at 3:00pm.
