NUTLEY, N.J. - Felician men's soccer honored two of its members on their careers as a Golden Falcon prior to the start of play against Wilmington (Del). University Saturday evening.
David Marquez (Madrid, Spain) and
Salvador Rang (Doorn, Netherlands) were among the two who were celebrated during the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference event.
Throughout the 2023 season, the Golden Falcons recorded at least one goal in every match until tonight. The green-and-gold were shut-out, 2-0, for the first time since Oct. 8 of last season when the squad tied, 0-0, with Jefferson University. With the hosts having recorded nine shots in the night, four on goal, the Golden Falcons surrendered an early goal in the first and a second one mid way through the second for their third consecutive loss of the season.
Returning back to when the score was 1-0,
Manuel Otero (Madrid, Spain) had a free kick opportunity for Felician to which he booted the ball in an attempt to equalize the score. With the ball soaring to the left side of the net, the Wildcat keeper pounced in front of the ball to secure the massive save to keep the Golden Falcons in a one goal deficit. After that, the Golden Falcons wouldn't post a shot through a 20-minute span as the opposer netted their second goal to hand Felician the 2-0 loss.
The men's soccer squad drops to 10-5-1 overall and 7-3 in the CACC. They will close out regular season play when they host Post University on Wednesday at Tryon Field for a 12:00pm kick-off.
