PHILADELPHIA, P.A. – Felician volleyball's three game win streak snaps after the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to Holy Family on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia. They drop to 6-12, 4-3 in CACC play.
Felician volleyball started off hot with a 25-17 set one win.
Karla Maldonado (Morovis, Puerto Rico) earned 4 kills in the first, along with
Megan Barker's (St. Catharines, Ontario) 3 kills,
Sara Betts' (Goodyear, Ariz.) 2 kills, and
Ashanna Caviness (Bogota, N.J.) and
Jelena Vucic (Smederevo, Serbia) both earning 1 kill apiece. Holy Family posted 4 service errors and 7 attack errors to help put the Golden Falcons on top this set.
The Golden Falcons went on to lose the next three sets, but not without putting up a fight. Maldonado earned 11 more kills within the next three sets to bring her total to 15, with Barker totaling seven kills and Betts posting six on the night.
Miquela Martinez (Santa Fe, N.M.) gathered 15 digs, Maldonado behind her with 12 digs and sophomore
Rylee Botelho (Fairhaven, M.A.) with seven.
Freshman setter
Sophia Watterson (Bowling Green, K.Y.) earned 16 assists on the night and Botelho had 14.
Golden Falcons volleyball continues conference play on Wednesday night when they host Bridgeport for a 7pm match-up at JJJ Gymnasium in Rutherford.
